Tiana Sparacino registered psychologist Wollongong, Balgownie and Telehealth Australia wide

Hi, I’m Tiana.

I'm a Clinical Psychologist Registrar based in Balgownie, Wollongong, offering in-person and telehealth appointments to adults and adolescents (12+) across the Illawarra region and beyond.

I came to psychology because I've seen firsthand the profound difference it can make in someone's life, not just in managing symptoms, but in truly transforming how a person understands themselves and moves through the world. That experience never left me, and it's what drives how I show up for every client I work with.

I feel incredibly grateful that my work allows me to sit with people through some of the most vulnerable and important moments of their lives.

What I love most about this work is helping people discover the strengths they already carry, often the ones they haven't yet recognised in themselves. So much of what brings people to therapy isn't weakness; it's years of coping the best way they knew how. My job is to help you see that, build on it, and create something that actually feels like change.

I bring warmth, curiosity, and honesty to every session. I'm direct when it helps, nurturing when it's needed, and always genuinely invested in the person in front of me. Clients often tell me sessions feel like a real conversation, human, collaborative, and grounded in serious clinical work.

My Approach

My approach is primarily grounded in Psychodynamic, Schema and Relational Therapy. This means we look beyond the immediate symptoms to understand the patterns, relationships, experiences and underlying beliefs that may be shaping how you feel and respond today. Together, we work to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and create meaningful, lasting change.

I work with a range of concerns including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, burnout, life transitions, and perinatal and postpartum challenges. Where helpful, I also draw on CBT and ACT strategies to support practical, evidence-based change and help you develop skills that can be used in everyday life.

Rather than following a fixed formula, I tailor therapy to you, your experiences and what you need from therapy. The aim isn't simply to help you get through what's happening now, but to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and work towards feeling more like yourself again.

I am Medicare and SIRA registered, meaning I can work with clients on Mental Health Care Plans, as well as WorkCover and DVA clients.
